The Executive Program on Leading Organizations and Innovations provides executives with the high level perspectives in organizational leadership and innovative strategies that are necessary for managing businesses successfully in today’s global economy. There has been tremendous excitement about creating innovations amongst practioners. However, most efforts at creating such systems rely exclusively on one person and therefore several organizations lose continuity. Another emergent challenge is handling an increasingly diversifying global workforce.
The program is designed to address two key themes that continually challenge global business leaders — Leadership and Innovation. As suggested in the program title, there are two themes in the program. These are leading innovations, and therefore lead organizations through creating systems that foster innovation. There shall be inputs on leading multicultural teams as well.
The program will be delivered by experts and faculty from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. IIMC faculty members are at the cutting-edge of research in their fields and have published numerous papers and are widely cited. Faculty members selected to teach in this program have significant experience in dealing with groups of senior executives from leading companies across the Asian region and the globe, thus bringing the wealth of their rich practical experiences into the classroom.
This program will be delivered in the online mode with one contact session of 3 hrs in a week. It is designed to run for 24 weeks (about 6 months).
- Program Impact
The Program is especially designed to focus on the issues of key concern to those at or near the top of their organizations. It deals with:
- How to effectively lead organizations in the 21st century
- How to capture and sustain value from global markets
- How to create innovations and implement strategies & engage the organization in change
- How to create stakeholder value and ensure sustained financial performance
- It aims to transform the performance of the participants who attend and the organizations they represent
This leadership program's active-learning approach blends interactive lectures with hands-on experiences that put the principles into practice. Faculty challenge participants to examine their own management objectives and leadership style and explain why many of the current methods won't get the results they need. Throughout the program, the participants focus on one of their own current challenges. They will experiment with new approaches and behaviors in applied learning sessions, receive constructive feedback and insights from faculty and fellow executives, and leave with specific action steps for resolving current and future challenges.

- Program Duration & Schedule
The EPLOI would include 72 instructional hours through Interactive Onsite Learning Mode, spread over 6 months.
Timings - Saturday - 6:45 pm to 9:45 pm
- Course Content
There are four modules in the program that shall run for nearly equal duration. Their details are:
Module 1: Understanding innovation and its enablers
Module 2: Leading innovations
Module 3: Leading innovation in a globalised world
Module 4: Participant presentations of their learning and caselets/projects
Keeping in line with theme of this program, we shall encourage willing participants to share their learning and ideas via projects or their presentations,i.e. they will become the instructor for about a session and lead the classroom to learn. The idea is to make these sessions, effective vehicles for learning, sharing and increased networking amongst the participants.
The sessions in this online program are meant to be interactive. However, interactive classrooms require that participants are active and participative in the sessions. Case method would be often used to help participants analyze situations, make decisions and crystallize points of learning. Meaningful case discussions could only be held if the participants are willing to read the cases (to the extent possible) before the sessions. Participants would also be encouraged to draw out similarities and differences from their contexts to distill finer points of learning. Thus, it is expected that it would be a good learning experience for all of us involved in the program. We are sure that our intended audience is mature to understand the demands of this method and would be committed to learn and derive value out of this program.
Participants are evaluated on the basis of examinations.
